EBSIS Mathletes Secure Silver and Bronze in IMOCSEA, Bound for International Finals

 


Eduardo Barretto Sr. Integrated School (EBSIS) mathlete continues to make waves in the field of mathematics as two of its talented students garnered prestigious awards in the recently concluded International Mathematics Olympiad Competition of South East Asia (IMOCSEA) National Round held last August 10.

Marbick Kcam Regio and Avril Ashlee Alcantara, both from Grade 9 Jasmine, showcased their mathematical prowess by winning silver and bronze medals, respectively. Their remarkable achievements have earned them a spot in the national awarding ceremony, set to take place at the University of San Agustin in Iloilo City on September 14. The two mathletes will fly to Iloilo on September 13 to receive their well-deserved recognition.

Adding to their triumph, Regio and Alcantara have also qualified to be part of Team Philippines, representing the country in the final round of the competition scheduled for December 20-24 in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Their participation in this international event not only brings pride to EBSIS but also to the entire nation.

Mathematics Mentors Unlock New Milestone with Recent Reclassification


The Mathematics Department of Eduardo Barretto Sr. Integrated School (EBSIS) proudly announces the career advancement of two of its dedicated educators, Mr. Jeruel B. Canceran and Mrs. Michelle A. Mondero. Both teachers have successfully reclassified their positions, with Mr. Canceran moving up to Teacher III and Mrs. Mondero advancing to Teacher II.

Mr. Jeruel Canceran, who teaches Grade 10 and Grade 12 students, has been recognized for his commitment to academic excellence and his continuous efforts to enhance the learning experience of his students. Meanwhile, Mrs. Michele Abanza Mondero, who handles Grade 9 and Grade 8 classes, has consistently demonstrated her dedication to her students' growth and development, earning her this well-deserved promotion.

EBSIS Mathletes Shine in SIMSO finals, Bag 1 Gold and 2 Silver Medals



Bangkok, Thailand—Eduardo Barretto Sr. Integrated School (EBSIS) proudly celebrated another significant achievement as their mathletes secured a total of three medals—one gold and two silvers—at the final round of the Siam International Mathematics and Science Olympiad (SIMSO) held from August 9 to 12.

Jazliene Escala, a Grade 10 student from the Marble section, clinched the prestigious gold medal in the Secondary 3 category. Escala's outstanding performance demonstrated her exceptional skills and commitment to excellence in mathematics.

Joining her on the podium was Cidi Clare De Chavez, also from Grade 10 Marble, who earned a silver medal in the Secondary 3 category. De Chavez's achievement further underscored the strong mathematical talent nurtured at EBSIS.

Adding to the school’s accolades, Sophia Cassandra Halongong from Grade 8 Jasmine secured a silver medal in the Secondary 1 category. Halongong’s success at a young age highlights the promising future of EBSIS’s mathematics program.

EBSIS Elects New Mathematics Club Officers for 2024

    On August 9, 2024, Eduardo Barretto Sr. Integrated School successfully conducted its annual Mathematics Club election, an event that marks the beginning of a new chapter in student leadership. Spearheaded by Ms. Cathy O. Parabuac, the club adviser, along with the support of other dedicated mathematics teachers, the election aimed to identify capable leaders who will guide the club's activities for the upcoming school year.
