Math Teachers Attended Training-Workshop

Three skilled math teachers attended the three-day training-workshop on Mathematics Contents and Pedagogies for Key stage 4 teachers, July 26–28, 2023. The training aims to demonstrate mastery of and proficiency in teaching Statistics and Probability's challenging content through problem-solving exercises and demonstration teaching.

Three mathematics proficient teachers of Eduardo Barretto Sr. National High School attended the said training workshop. They were Ms. Maribith D. Gersin, Ms. Cathy O. Parabuac, and Mr. Nimrod D. Poblete. Training aims to discuss the contents in Key Stages 3 and 4 difficult to teach contents in Statistics and Probability particularly in the Basics of Statistics and Probability, Random Variables and Distribution and Statistical Inference as Critical testing.

UPLB Prof. Jane D. Palacio, an MS in Mathematics graduate, spoke about the fundamentals of probability and statistics on the first day of the training. On the second day, the distribution of random variables was discussed by Prof. Edd Francis O. Felix of UPLB, who has an MS in mathematics. And on the last day of instruction, UPLB Prof. Lynie B. Dimasuay—a MS in Mathematics graduate—discussed the use of statistical inference as critical testing. Participants responded to the activities the presenters had given them after the discussion.

Additionally, there were demonstration teachers who showed off their skills in the training session every afternoon. Helpful criticism of the sample teachers' performance is shared. It was led by designated facilitator, Education Program Supervisor in Mathematics of Calamba City, Dr. Isabelita Hizon, Public Schools District Supervisors of different cluster of Calamba, and different master and head teachers.
